Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year at Tennyson Knolls Elementary School. I am honored to have been selected as your new principal, and I am looking forward to getting to meet each of you personally.  I am thrilled to be joining the TKE team, a dedicated and knowledgeable group of teachers and staff who have built a tradition of excellence in educating the children of this community. To share a little about myself, I come most recently from Denver Public Schools. I have been an Assistant Principal at a diverse and improving ECE through 8th grade school for the past two years. Prior to my work as an AP, I was also an instructional coach for elementary mathematics and a classroom teacher for 4th and 5th grades. Before working in education, I was a United States Peace Corps volunteer in the West Indies working with children in poverty. I was also an Urban Fellow in New York City, working for Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s Deputy in Community and Business Development. In all that I have done, public service and making a difference for my community have always been at the forefront of my efforts.

As I enter TKE, I look forward to building strong partnerships between the community and school to help prepare our students (your children) for their best futures possible. As your principal, you can expect that I will reach out to you and ask for your support, ideas, suggestions and involvement. We recognize that you are your child’s first and most important teacher, and I will encourage you to join our team to help us meet your child’s needs.

It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.
- Albert Einstein

Thank you for this opportunity to help awaken your child’s joy for learning. We at TKE celebrate in the fact that we get this chance each day!

I hope you enjoy your summer, and look forward to beginning a wonderful new school year at TKE.  If you have any questions, or would like to stop by and talk with me, please call the school office at TKE at (303) 429-4090.
